Problem: In the iPad, when throwing fireworks sometimes the game is stopped and the iPad App Switcher screen is brought up

 

Explanation: iOS 11 introduced "Gestures" which can be used to call system features in the iPhone and iPad from inside any application. Amongst these gestures is a four/five finger swipe up which calls up the App Switcher. This iOS functionality can interfere with Free Play and Recording of shows in Fireworks Maestro for iPad since the multiple-finger movement of throwing 4 or more fireworks rockets at once might be intercepted by iOS and interpreted as this "iOS Gesture".

 

Currently it is not possible for our application to tell the iPad operating system that this movement should not be intercepted.

 

How to solve: Fireworks Maestro will try to detect this kind of situation and, when the user returns to the game, display a help screen with instructions on how to disable the Gestures in the iOS Settings. However, if you have not seen this screen, you can solve this problem as follows:

  1. Open the Settings application in your iPad
  2. Choose "General" settings and within it choose "Multitasking & Dock"
  3. Within "Multitasking & Dock", disable "Gestures" by swipping the toggle next to it from the right to the left.

Note that this will disable only these iOS 11 "Gestures" and do so for all applications.

 

 

Question: How do I share a show on the Internet?

 

Answer: This can be done as follows:

  1. If you have not yet done so, in the Play Area, record the show into one of the 3 available local slots
  2. Go to the Workshop and select the Shows Board (clipboard button on the right)
  3. In the Shows Board, tap on the local show slot (clipboard on the left) containing the show you want to share to select it and on the Your Remote Show slot (top ticket on the right) to select it.
  4. If the application has network access (the cable on the top of the screen shows as connected) and the local slot does have a show, the upload button should become enabled. Press this button to upload the show. Once the upload has finished successfully you get a happy smiley face on the button.
  5. The number which is under the Your Remote Show slot is the ticket number to access the show you have shared on the internet. Give this to anybody you want to be able to download and see your show.

Please note that in the Free version of Fireworks Maestro this functionality is locked and thus not available.

 

 

Question: How can I see a show shared on the Internet?

 

Answer: First you must get the ticket number for that show from the person who shared the show. Then you should:

  1. Go to the Workshop and select the Shows Board (clipboard button on the right)
  2. In the Shows Board, tap on the local show slot (clipboard on the left) to were do you want to donwload the show. Note that when you download the shared show it will replace any show already stored in that local show slot.
  3. Tap the number under the Other Remote Show slot (bottom ticket on the right) and fill-in the ticket number of the remote show you want to get.
  4. If the application has network access (the cable on the top of the screen shows as connected), after a while the ticket should show the state of the Other Remote Show slot (if a show is available in that slot, the ticket icon will contain lines). Tap the Remote Show slot to select it and the download button will be active.
  5. Press the download button to download the show. Once the download has finished successfully you get a happy smiley face on the button.
  6. Go to the Play Area and watch the show from the local show slot you selected in Step 2 above.

 

Question: Can I have more than one show shared on the Internet at the same time?

 

Answer: Each installation of the Fireworks Maestro Game gets assigned a single Remote Show slot which can contain ONE show only, for others to download. If you upload a new show for sharing it replaces any show that was previously shared there.

 

So you can only have ONE show shared at a time for each active installation of the Game. However, if you have more than one iPad, each with the application installed, each copy of the Game will count as a different active installation and each will have its own, separate Remote Show slot with a different number, each capable of holding ONE shared show.
